@Jacques: You're more than welcome to pass by anytime for a beer on the terrace, but we'll definitely let you know once we get settled in so we can get together for lunch!

Welcome to the world of sound bites. :)

It's good to see you there, although it can be a hit and miss kind of world in terms of making connections. I'm glad you enjoyed one of my Twitter posts. Thanks for the mention.

@daryl - thanks for the comment. You're absolutely right, the Web Developer toolbar for Firefox is indispensable and the Speed Test function is a good alternative to pingdom. Great tip!

Great post, I've always made it a practice to have a tight loading time on all pages just to lower my bounce rate. My big tip would be install Firefox and then install the Web Developer toolbar. Under the Tools dropdown there is a Speedtest option for running a new speedtest. It also has options for validation your html, and CSS from W3 sites. I can't imagine living without my firefox extensions :)

Nice, clear explanation of assists here. I was recently writing about social media measurement, and specifically converting visitors to subscribers. Something I suggested was considering how many times it took for a visitor to come by before they subscribed. I'd forgotten about assists at the time and it's interesting to see people smarter than me had a similar idea (albeit before I hatched my own).
